Becoming a mom has been the most transformative experience of my life. If you had told me a few years ago that I’d go from chasing city life vibes in my 30s to dreaming about homesteading and owning farmland, I probably would’ve laughed and requested another tequila shot at happy hour. But here I am, a work-from-home mom, researching how to start a homestead and laying the foundation for an enterprise that brings all my wildest ideas to life.

Motherhood has shifted my perspective in ways I never imagined. My daughter, Dru, has this magical way of grounding me while simultaneously pushing me to dream even bigger. Life has slowed down in some aspects—there’s more focus on meaningful moments and simpler joys—but it’s also become more intentional. Every decision I make now feels like it carries more weight because it’s about building a legacy for her.

Lately, my days have been a mix of work calls, diaper changes, and late-night deep dives into YouTube videos about farming, entrepreneurship, and creating a sustainable lifestyle. It’s funny how life can shift your priorities. I used to think of success as styling the biggest celebrity or curating the perfect Instagram aesthetic. Now, success looks like owning a piece of land where Dru can play, where I can grow crop to feed my community, host events, and where my dreams of starting a nonprofit and a childcare center for first responders can thrive.

Creating this enterprise feels like the natural next step for me. I want to take all these ideas that have been floating around in my head—a coffee shop for moms, a safe house with a community kitchen, resources for young girls, and so much more and bring them under one umbrella. I’ve even thought about calling it House of Dru , inspired by the little girl who’s at the center of it all.

But here’s the thing: I can’t do it alone. If there’s one thing motherhood has taught me, it’s that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.
