Boxing has always been a love of mine. I think I inherited the love of the sport from my dad. There’s just something about the discipline, the strategy, and the pure adrenaline that comes with watching two fighters give their all in the ring. It’s not just a sport, it’s ART! And right now, Gervonta Davis is BIG DOG. I don’t want to hear anything different. His technique is unmatched, his power is undeniable, and every fight he’s in feels like a cultural event. So naturally, I’m already planning my next fight watch party for the highly anticipated Davis vs. Lamont Roach fight on March 1st. This one’s for the DC & Baltimore.
You notice how I didn’t say DMV, not the same. Very mindful, very demure.
But let’s make this blog bigger than just one party. Ladies, if you’ve never hosted a fight night before, let me tell you why it’s time to change that.
The Benefits of Hosting a Fight Watch Party
Whether you’re single or coupled, hosting a fight party is the ultimate power move. Here’s why:
- For Single Women:
- It’s a great way to expand your social circle. Inviting friends and friends-of-friends creates opportunities to meet new people in a relaxed, fun environment.
- Boxing watch parties have a unique energy. You get the thrill of the fight, the laughs during the commentary, and the camaraderie of cheering and booing together. Plus, it’s not your typical “girls’ night.” It’s a good time.
- For Women in Relationships:
- A shared love of boxing can become a mutual interest for you and your partner. Fight nights can be a way to combine your worlds, hanging out with your favorite people while making unforgettable memories together.
- Hosting at home allows you to set the tone—intimate, fun, and full of love. It’s the perfect mix of “homebody vibes” and social excitement.
The Perfect Fight Night Menu
When it comes to the menu, keep it simple yet satisfying. Here are my go-to picks:
- Buffalo Dip: This crowd-pleaser is always a hit and easy to whip up.
- Signature Punch: For my last party, I made a Hennessy Sidecar and called it the “Golden Glove.” This time, I’m brainstorming something equally creative to wow my tribe.
- Sliders & Wings: You truly can’t go wrong here. Whether you go classic cheeseburgers or cold cut grinder-style, these staples are guaranteed to satisfy.
Keep the Energy Up During Undercards
Let’s be real: the main event is the star of the show, but the undercards can feel a little… slow for some guests. Plan games or light activities to keep everyone engaged. Think trivia questions about the fighters or a drinking game for every knockdown or technical moment. Taboo or Jenga! It’s all about creating an experience that keeps people excited until the big fight.
