Imagine only eating one meal a week. Just one big plate of food on Sunday, expecting it to hold you over until the next week. Sounds ridiculous, right? Your body would be weak, your energy drained, and your cravings unbearable. So why do we do this with our faith?
Some of us show up to church on Sunday, get our fill of the Word, and then starve spiritually the rest of the week. We don’t pray unless there’s a crisis, we don’t open our Bibles unless the pastor is reading from it, and we let life pull us so far from God that by the time Sunday rolls around again, we’re spiritually malnourished.
But here’s the truth: God isn’t just a Sunday meal friend, he’s daily bread.
Prayer doesn’t have to be a formal event. Talk to God in the car, while cooking dinner, during your lunch break. Let Him in on the little things, the frustrations, the joys, the “I don’t know what I’m doing” moments. The more you involve Him, the stronger your faith becomes.
Reading the Bible doesn’t have to be an hour-long deep dive. One verse in the morning, one thought to meditate on during the day, one scripture to carry into your conversations can shift your whole perspective. The Pray app we pretty cool too.
Your relationship with God is like any other relationship because it thrives on consistency, not convenience. You wouldn’t eat once a week and expect to be healthy. So don’t just feast on the Word on Sundays and starve the rest of the week. Make time for God daily, even in small ways, and watch how He fills every part of your life.
