I Took a Step Back and Found Everything I Was Looking For

By

For 70 days straight, I was on a blogging streak—writing, sharing, pouring into my creative space with consistency and intention. And then life did what life does. Dru and I got sick, and in the midst of healing, I fell off my streak. At first, I felt the weight of it. That familiar feeling of, Dang, I was doing so well, and now I have to start over. But then, something shifted in me.

I realized this break wasn’t a setback; it was a necessary pause. A recalibration. A moment to sit with myself and recognize that every step forward, even with pauses in between, is still progress. Now, I’m stepping back into this journey feeling different—more intentional, more aligned, more sure of the woman I’m becoming. Taking that unexpected break gave me clarity—not just about where I’ve been but about where I’m going. And let me tell you, I’m excited. Excited for the shifts, the new connections, and the deeper sense of purpose I feel settling into my spirit.

1. Strengthening My Spiritual Discipline

I’m craving a deeper connection with God, one that isn’t just built on routine but on relationship. That means more intentional prayer, more fasting, more time spent with my physical Bible instead of just reading devotionals on my phone. I want my faith to be the foundation of every decision I make, guiding me toward the life I know is meant for me.

2. Cultivating Genuine Connections

As I grow, I know my circle will shift, and I welcome that. I’m looking forward to meeting like-minded women who are also walking in their purpose—women who understand this season of alignment, who prioritize faith, discipline, and personal growth. I want deep conversations, mutual inspiration, and friendships that feel like home.

3. Honoring My Body and Energy

I’m stepping into a new level of self-respect, and that includes being intentional with my body, my time, and my energy. Celibacy, modesty, and overall mindfulness aren’t about restriction for me—they’re about honor. Honoring my body as sacred. Honoring my mind by being careful about what I consume. Honoring my space by making sure it reflects peace, joy, and clarity. I may dive more into this later but also, I don’t feel like I owe a justification.

4. Returning to My Creative Flow

Blogging, content creation, storytelling—I love it all. And now, I’m approaching it with fresh energy. I want my words to be an open door, inviting others into this journey, making them feel seen and understood. This is more than just a blog for me; it’s a space for connection, transparency, and evolution.

5. Preparing for My Future Partnership

For a while, I let the idea of marriage become a blur. But now, I’m reclaiming that dream—not for the wedding, not for the aesthetic, but for the love, commitment, and partnership. I know that by aligning myself with the woman I’m meant to be, I’m also preparing myself for the relationship I truly desire. And that? That’s worth the wait.

I’m stepping into this next chapter with open hands and a full heart, ready to embrace all that’s meant for me. The break was just a pause; the journey continues. And I can’t wait to see where it leads. ✨

Xoxo, Drea
