Today, I gave myself permission to rest.
Dru got sent home early—because of course she did—teething is whooping her ass so I took it as a sign from the universe to just say fuck it. No overthinking, no guilt-tripping myself, no trying to force productivity when my body was screaming for a break. I curled up, caught up on some much-needed sleep, and let the day unfold without expectations. And you know what? It felt good.
Now, with the scent of seasoned chicken filling my kitchen, I’m wrapping up my day with some fire tacos because—hello, it’s Taco Tuesday. And before I log off for the night, I only have one message for y’all:
Don’t compare your year one to someone else’s year five.
Read that again.
We get so caught up in measuring our progress against people who are further along that we forget to honor our own journey. Growth takes time. Mastery takes time. Building the life you want takes time. Just because someone else looks like they have it all together doesn’t mean they didn’t struggle to get there. And if they did? Then that’s proof that you will get there too—on your own timeline, in your own way.
So if today felt slow, messy, or not where you want to be just yet, that’s okay. You’re still on your way.
Now, excuse me while I enjoy these tacos.
Goodnight, y’all.
Xoxo, Drea
