Y’all ever hear something that just clicks? That’s how I felt after hearing this quote from Tyler the Creator:

“If you try hard to be too cool, you’ll end up freezing.”

Whew. It slapped me right across the forehead like a… nevermind lol

Let’s talk about it.

So many of us are out here tryin’ so hard to be unbothered, curated, mysterious… whatever tf the aesthetic the algorithm is pushing this week. We put on this “cool” armor thinking it protects us from judgment, from failure, from not being liked. But that same armor? It’ll lock you outta real connection. Real joy. Real you.

I’ve caught myself doing it too. Holding back excitement so I don’t look “pressed.” Not sharing something vulnerable ’cause I don’t want people to see me sweat. But the truth is joy, honesty, even awkwardness? That’s where the magic is. That’s the real flex.

Trying to be cool all the time is like trying to walk in stilettos on black ice LOL you will slip! You will freeze. And nine times outta ten, you’ll miss out on the warm, rich, messy moments that make life feel real.

So this week, I’m choosing warmth. I’m choosing to be seen. Even if it ain’t polished or trending. Even if somebody thinks it’s “doing too much.” or oversharing. At least I’m not freezing behind some fake ass chill.
