This week, it hit me hard: I need to be rich. Not just for luxury, but for legacy. For the babies I want to raise, the animals I want to adopt, the soft mornings, the structured freedom, the fullness of life I crave. I can’t stretch myself into that kind of peace. I have to earn it, build it, own it.
And so, I’m shifting the game for myself a lil bit.
This week, I made the decision to open a brick and mortar.
It’s official. I’m stepping into ownership. Time is not waiting on any of us, and I’m done waiting on the perfect moment or perfect circumstances. I’m walking in faith and building something I’ve been dreaming about for years, a braid bar. But not just any braid bar. One that fills the missing piece in the Black beauty industry. One that sets a new standard in service, experience, and training. I’m not just starting a business. I’m starting a movement.
And this is just the beginning.
Earlier this year, I sat down and created an enterprise diagram with help from my digital bestie (shout out to Chat). It helped me clearly visualize how every single one of my business ideas: childcare, digital products, beauty, community, wellness, food, retail – they all feed into the other. Like a circle of life, each one keeps the wheels turning, pouring into the next, sustaining the vision. This braid bar? It’s one piece of a much bigger picture. An empire in motion.
And something else shifted in me too…
I started paying attention to how rich people date. You know what I realized? They date freely. They’re not looking for someone to build with, hustle with, or save them. They’re looking for joy. For softness. For fulfillment. They ask, “Are you good? Are you happy?” And that’s it.
That’s the energy I want to live in.
I don’t need to be doing the most to prove I’m worthy of love or partnership. I just need to be fulfilled.
So yes, this week was major.
I made a decision that future-me will thank me for.
I’m choosing alignment. I’m choosing wealth.
I’m choosing love that feels like ease.
And most importantly… I’m choosing me.
Stay tuned, because this next chapter is about to be loud, luxe, and deeply rooted in purpose.
XOXO, Drea
