This morning, I sat on my balcony staring at what I had silently labeled my “failed garden.” Brown and dry, drooping stems, and a whole lot of not what I imagined. I had poured so much time, energy, and expectation into that little area of peace… only for it to look like it gave up on me.
But then, outta nowhere, I spotted something. New growth. Tiny green sprouts breaking through the dirt like, “Hey girl, we still here.”
Timing is everything.
We live in a world that praises instant results and quick wins, overnight success, “glow ups” with no real backstory. But nature don’t move like that. Flowers don’t bloom every season, and even when they’re not shining on the surface, those roots? They are still growing. Still working. Still doing the deep, invisible labor that eventually leads to beauty.
And aren’t we the same?
Even when it feels like nothing is happening… when life looks dried out or dreams feel delayed… there is still movement underneath. Still lessons being learned, still character being built, still healing taking place.
We’re not always gonna be in bloom. And that’s okay. What matters is that we keep watering our roots… through rest, through therapy, through discipline, through boundaries, through stillness. Because when it is your time to shine, baby, it’ll be undeniable.
So yeah, my garden taught me a little something today.
Even the “failures” are just quiet setups for a comeback.
Keep growing. The roots remember.
Xoxo, Sandrea
